Welcome to Kindred Tree Healing Center! I am honored that you are considering us to stand alongside you in your healing journey. I believe we are all wired for connection, healing, and growth. I love working with children who are struggling to feel heard and understood-at home, school, or with their peers; because of trauma and anxiety resulting from adoption, foster care, grief, and other painful life experiences. Additionally, I specialize in parenthood/motherhood. I absolutely love working with invested parents who are looking to delve further into attachment informed, positive, and conscious parenting. Because above all things I am a healer, I love working with all populations across the lifespan that are yearning for growth and deeper consciousness.

I'm a licensed psychotherapist, reiki master, yoga teacher, public speaker, and owner of Kindred Tree Healing Center. I have extensive training in play therapy, and other expressive therapies like art, music, and sand-tray. I bring forth over a decade of expertise in the areas of child development, parenting, trauma, and attachment issues.

My style is a mix of modern science and ancient wisdom. I deeply love connecting with others on a profound level and staying up to date on the latest brain-based ways of healing. I am an avid researcher and truly love blending evidence-based western therapies with eastern ancient healing modalities like Ayurveda, Yoga, and Reiki. I also strongly believe in walking my talk, and personally engaging with all the healing work I also provide my patients. I felt the urge to be a healer since I can remember. By the time I was 3 years old I felt a deep calling to help others and do my part to make the world a better place. I've dedicated my whole life to developing myself as a person capable of this.

I am passionate about encouraging others to find their strengths on their path to healing and wellness. I view each one of my clients with complete positive regard for their life’s journey and honor their uniqueness. For me, it is an honor to be a therapist and to build a collaborative relationship built on trust, in order to walk alongside you on your journey to reach your therapeutic goals. I work with children, adolescents and adults.
My clinical experience in the counseling field began in 1996 when I worked at The Women’s Center in Vienna, Virginia. I have a special interest in trauma, anxiety and depression as well as the psychosocial aspect of medical illness. I am fully bilingual in English and Spanish and am a first generation American. This gave me the unique perspective of seeing how culture influences our upbringing and values; as such, I have a special interest in working with clients from various ethnic backgrounds, similar or different from my own.

I have worked in medical settings, military based centers, private and public schools. Before obtaining my professional counseling license in Maryland, I worked at Frederick County Public Schools as well as with Frederick Community College teaching English As A Second Language. I believe that ongoing growth is important. I have expertise in helping families navigate the difficult dynamics that arise with children during the divorce and separation process. Additionally, I enjoy supporting children that are struggling with trauma, anxiety, or life changes.

I am a licensed psychotherapist with over 9 years of experience. I specialize in helping children find their voice to effectively communicate. I work to assist parents in strengthening their relationship with their child. I utilize play therapy and other expressive approaches when working with children. In my work with adults, I use an integrative approach in thinking about the mind body connection and the impact that both parts contribute to our overall health and healing.

Prior to joining Kindred Tree Healing Center, I worked at various out-patient settings as a clinician. I first began my experience in mental health by providing counseling and group therapy to at-risk youth in middle schools. I am a compassionate advocate for healing. I have nine years of experience working directly with others in the mental health and hospice arenas. I specialize in working with individuals across the lifespan who have experienced trauma, anxiety, as well as those working through grief and loss, Another area of my expertise and passion is working with LGBTQQIAP+ community. I provide affirmative therapy to children, teens and adults who are struggling with their gender identity or sexual orientation.
My focus throughout my career has been to just be with those experiencing the complex difficulties of navigating the world while feeling ‘other.’ My core values center around empathy and compassion, not as things we do, but as part of who we are and how we relate to those around us.
I utilize an integrative approach of talk therapy and creative expression to support others in reclaiming their stories. I utilize methods and techniques that include use of archetypes, pop culture, story-telling, affirmations, and more. While at Kindred, I am gaining additional supervision and expertise in play therapy and other expressive art therapies. I have found that helping others who are open to the change process to reclaim their experiences allows healing to take root and grow.

Prior to joining the team at Kindred Tree Healing, I worked in various roles as a mental health provider with individuals and groups. Later, I was called to work as a part of a hospice care team, where I provided support to patients and their families coping with imminent grief and loss. I have a long history of working within the Frederick and Washington County communities to connect others with much needed resources for their well-being.

When I’m not at work, I am often spending time with my family, engaged in various music and theater projects, practicing yoga, and writing poetry.
