"Who looks outside dreams, who looks inside AWAKENS" -Carl Jung
We provide outpatient therapy services for children and adults who are experiencing stress, anxiety, or depression as a result of trauma or other difficult life experiences. We often combine developmentally appropriate interventions with expressive and experiential therapies like play, art, music and sandtray. We recognize that you are the expert on your life and we are here to collaborate with you. At Kindred Tree Healing Center you are an active participant in the therapeutic relationship and the treatment goals we make.
In addition to working with adults, we also work with children 18 months and up. We utilize filial play therapy approaches with children as young as 18 months and integrative play therapy for children 4 and up. To learn more about our treatment approaches, please visit our Contact Us section. We are happy to provide additional information regarding our expertise, treatment approaches, and can help you assess whether we are a fit for you.
We are happy to accommodate busy professionals, or those without access to transportation by providing online hippa-compliant secure video therapy sessions. All of our staff have training in providing ethical e-therapy. We can often utilize the same in-office therapy interventions like emdr, brainspotting, yoga, play, and expressive art therapies after we have conducted a thorough assessment of therapy fit.
Your role as a parent is the most important role you will ever have. We utilize evidence based methods to help you be the best caregiver you can be. Research in the field of attachment and developmental science has continually found that children who have secure and healthy relationships with their caregivers go on to have happier and healthier relationships in life, higher self esteem, and experience less depression and anxiety. We are here to support you in your parenting journey. We often talk to parents that feel confused, depleted and discouraged. We will provide you not only with the emotional support every parent needs, but will also equip you with strategies that will help you feel more confident as a parent.
We also provide intensive therapy services for parents of biological, adoptive or foster children who are presenting with attachment and relational difficulties.
Yoga can be a powerful catalyst for inner healing and transformation. So many studies have demonstrated the healing effects of yoga, especially if you are suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, and emotional/physical regulation. We provide yoga groups for children and adults that aim at utilizing breath and movement in order to regulate the nervous system, while having fun and maintaining a deep respect for ones ability to go inward into healing mind, body, and spirit. We also actively incorporate yoga into individual therapy sessions. We are trained in trauma-informed yoga therapy, children's yoga, Ashtanga vinyasa, and restorative yoga.
Reiki is an alternative healing method that originated in Japan close to 3000 years ago. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word “Rei” which means "Universal Life" and “Ki” which means "Energy". Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Ideally, one’s "Ki" or energy should be strong and free flowing, nourishing and revitalizing the body and mind. By easing tension and stress that often blocks the natural flow of energy, Reiki assists the body in creating an environment that facilitates healing on all levels -- physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
Reiki is not a cure for a disease or illness although many studies have demonstrated the helpful benefits of reiki for treating trauma and stress. It is used to complement traditional medicine and is practiced in many hospitals and medical care settings. Sessions are very pleasant, soothing, and invigorating. You might experience a warming sensation or a tingling during a session, or nothing but sheer relaxation. Our Reiki sessions last for 60 minutes with time allotted to discuss any particular concerns you might have or health issues you might be experiencing.

Kindred Tree Healing Center is considered an out of network provider with many insurance companies. It is important that you verify with your insurance company the out of network benefits included in your policy. We will provide a statement, upon request, for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. It's been our experience that insurance companies usually reimburse our clients promptly.
The benefit of being an out of network provider is that the insurance companies are not placing any restrictions on the services provided so the focus is on meeting the needs of each child and family.
Please contact us to discuss our current fees and whether we are a good fit for you.
