As a therapist, I firmly believe that understanding ourselves and being open to learning about who we are is an important part of the healing journey. My role is to assist you in this journey through the power of curiosity, wonder, compassion, and connection.

Creating a safe space is of utmost importance to me, and I strive to embody this value in our sessions. My aim is to provide an environment that allows you or your child to freely express yourself and view your life through a new lens. We will work towards uncovering your story and overcoming any obstacles that may be hindering your growth.

My passion lies in working with children, adolescents, and adults who are looking to heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and adoption related stressors. As a parent myself, I understand the joys and challenges of parenting.  Let us work together to help you align with your true self, find inner peace, and embrace your authenticity.

I have 17 years of experience in the field of mental health. I started my career in mental health in Ethiopia in 2007, serving orphan and vulnerable children in the international adoption space. I then provided counseling and healing support to women survivors of gender-based violence and their children. In Maryland, for the last few years, I was providing direct services in the mental health field both in the clinical setting and leadership positions at local government organizations. These experiences have given me the privilege of supporting others in their healing journeys.

My passion and purpose is geared towards breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma through healing. Bringing wholeness and meaning to an individual’s life and unity within a family and a community is part of my purpose as a clinician. Being bicultural and bilingual allows me to have a richer and broader view of the world and gives me the unique opportunity to serve others in many ways.

In my personal life I love spending time with family and friends, carving time to spend in nature,  gardening, writing, reading and interior designing.

I have advanced clinical training and experience in the following.

  • Inner Child Healing

  • Play Therapy

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Embodiment Work

  • Compassionate Inquiry

  • Treating developmental trauma and attachment in children

  • Attuned and Conscious parenting

  • Attachment focused therapy
